About Gus In Nj
Say hello to Gus, a classic Great Pyrenees with a long, plush white and cream coat you’ll want to run your hands through. He’s got that signature big smile, but he tends to be a little reserved at first. Right now, Gus is in boarding but ready to make the move to his foster or permanent home. He previously worked two years as a livestock guardian, always vigilant and devoted—just ask the chickens and ducks who relied on him. Gus has also experienced life indoors and enjoys having regular access to the outdoors. He’s non-destructive, motivated by treats, and knows basic commands like sit, stay, leave it, and hop up. If you’ve got Milkbones in your pocket, he’ll come right over (most of the time). Gus is energetic on the leash and takes the guardian role seriously—he’ll need a sturdy 6-foot fence to keep his adventures in check. He does great with other animals and children, warming up to new people when introduced by someone he trusts. But if you own a hedgehog, be prepared—he’s not sure about those. Gus fits well with active families or homes with other pets. Loyal and devoted, he’s a gentle guardian who, once he lets you in, is as sweet as they come. Your new best friend is just one click away.
