Virginia is a shy girl who's really starting to blossom, and she's around 6 years old and 14 lbs. She joined Mostly Mutts after needing a new home and spent a couple of weeks in an adoptive family, but it wasn't the right fit. Now she's back, hoping to find just the right family. Virginia gets along well with other dogs, especially those around her age and size; she’s made some great friends in the play yard. However, she prefers to avoid overly energetic puppies. Cats are currently unknown, and she would do best in a home without young children. Her personality shines through as she’s learning to adjust to the shelter environment. It’s important for her adopters to treat her with patience, allowing her the time she needs to feel secure. Virginia loves her training sessions and thrives with a good, calm leader. Though she can be a bit hesitant, once she feels comfortable, she enjoys being close to her humans. She has shown guarding behaviors, particularly when carried, but her trainer is working on this and can share techniques to help. Virginia is actively learning in the Mostly Mutts University training program and is house-training. She sleeps well in her crate when given the chance, using it as her decompression space.
