About Bolton

Bolton is about 8 years old and weighs roughly 49 lbs. He came from animal control after a tough start and is ready for a new chapter with a caring family. Bolton spent time in a prison/foster training program where he learned his basics, and now waits in foster care for someone to take him home for good. He’s a friendly, goofy hound/boxer mix who enjoys both playing and relaxing. He’s gentle, sweet, and loves sniffing around outside. Bolton gets along well with most other dogs, especially those who want to play chase with him, but shouldn’t live with cats since he likes to chase them. Kids 10 and up are a good fit—smaller kids or toddlers, maybe not, since he could knock them over by accident. He’s house trained, does well with leash walking (though a chain leash is recommended in cars, as he’s chewed a few), and knows all his basic commands ('sit', 'stay', 'come', and more). He greets people with enthusiasm, loves long walks, daytrips, and bath time. Bolton’s vaccinations are current, he’s neutered, and his skin and fur are looking better after some initial thin patches. He’s eating a special prescription diet for a bit of a sensitive stomach; this is managed well with proper food. His teeth could use a cleaning in the future, but he’s otherwise healthy and thriving. Bolton is in Kennesaw, GA, and looking for a family who wants an affectionate companion with plenty of life and love left to give. Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin!
