Umah is a sweet, loving girl ready to embark on a new chapter in her life. This timid pup takes her time to trust, but once she does, she'll follow you everywhere, believing your lap is her rightful spot. Given loud or busy environments can overwhelm her, she needs a calm, patient family to help her adjust at her own pace. As Umah becomes more comfortable, her playful side shines through. She enjoys playing with other dogs and indulging in some adorable zoomies. Treats motivate her, making kennel time a breeze, especially when a meal is on the way. Umah is potty trained, quiet, and knows basic commands; she truly prefers cuddling to a hyperactive lifestyle. Transitioning to a new home may tug at her heartstrings as she has been with her daughter for eight months. Expect her to need reassurance and patience. She's likely to get along with respectful cats, and while she has health-related boundaries, like her preference for being held chest-to-chest, respecting these will help her feel safe. Umah isn't looking for someone to fix her; she needs a kind-hearted person to believe in her and help her grow into the confident dog she is meant to be. Currently, Umah is undergoing treatment for heartworm disease, which RSR covers. Adopters must restrict her activity for several weeks during recovery and manage follow-up vet appointments. She's set to join us in Minnesota on 9/26/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between 9 am and noon.
