About Forest
Forest is a 1.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier with a gentle spirit and a heart thatās learning to trust again. After spending over a year in a shelter, heās discovering that humans can be kind and loving. Timid at first, once he feels comfortable, his sweet personality starts to shine. Forest has a special bond with his foster familyās teenage son and enjoys playing with children, showing there's a playful pup just waiting to emerge. He thrives on fun activities, loving walks, hiking, tug-of-war, fetch, treats, and snuggling at night. Forest fits right in with an active family or can happily lounge around as a couch potato. This intelligent boy is food motivated and eager to learn, possibly engaging in dog sports as he gains confidence. Currently, heās working on adjusting to life in a home, mastering skills like counter surfing and getting used to household noises. The good news is he is crate trained and potty trained! Forest will do best in a loving home without young children, where his shyness is respected and he can take his time to adjust. He doesn't need a perfect family; he needs a family ready to show him he is safe, loved, and finally home. If youāre looking for a loyal companion who will slowly open his heart to you, Forest is waiting to meet you. Once he feels secure, the playful and adventurous side of him will shine through.
