About Alvin
<p>Alvin is a sweet, friendly, gentle Beagle boy weighing about 22 pounds, looking for a special home where he can be loved, understood, and comfortable.</p> <p>He originally came to us as part of the June Operation Frodo transport from Omaha, alongside his two brothers, Simon and Theodore.</p> <p>Alvin's journey began with a breeder, where his future was uncertain. He has been diagnosed with Musladin-Lueke Syndrome (MLS), affecting his connective tissues, which means he walks on his toes rather than on his pads. Hard surfaces like concrete can be uncomfortable for him.</p> <p>Though Alvin was adopted into a lovely home, it’s clear that an apartment lifestyle isn't right for him. He thrives best in a home with soft surfaces, especially grass, where he can roam safely.</p> <p>This young Beagle is packed with personality. He’s sweet, affectionate, and loves his treats. He knows how to open the food bin because waiting for dinner isn’t in his vocabulary! He’s also quiet on car rides, making him an excellent travel companion.</p> <p>Alvin's leash skills need some work—he’s much happier in a harness. He tends to eat quickly, showing his enthusiasm for food. He doesn’t need pity; he needs someone who understands his condition and can make thoughtful accommodations while appreciating his wonderful spirit.</p> <p>A home with a securely fenced yard and ample grass would be perfect. Alvin does enjoy the company of other dogs but would benefit from a calmer buddy, as high-energy play might not suit him.</p> <p>Behind his medical diagnosis is a loving boy who deserves a family that looks past challenges and sees the joy he brings. If you can offer a comfortable, loving environment, Alvin may just be the Beagle for you!</p> <p><strong>Please note</strong>: Our rescue is foster-based and cannot hold dogs for future adoption.
