Meet Taco! Taco is an approximately 2-year-old, 20-pound mixed-breed pup who has been described as a Yorkie mix—and we can definitely see it! He looks like a Yorkie who got a little extra height and longer legs. Whatever his exact mix may be, one thing is certain: this little guy is absolutely adorable. Taco is a true SHADOW. This boy wants to be wherever his person is, all the time. Headed to the kitchen? Taco is coming! Going to the bathroom? Taco will be right behind you! Moving from room to room? He’ll happily trot along to make sure he doesn’t miss a thing. He is the ultimate velcro dog and would love nothing more than to spend his days right by his person’s side. But here’s the best part: even though Taco loves being with his people, he also knows how to settle. He is crate trained and sleeps quietly in his crate overnight. Taco is also potty trained and walks beautifully on a leash, making him a great little companion for walks and adventures. He loves crinkle toys and is just starting to discover how much fun it is to carry them around his foster home. Taco does well around other dogs in public settings. He is perfectly comfortable passing dogs on leash walks, seeing them in parks, and generally sharing space with canine friends. However, Taco does have a little dog personality when it comes to his person. He can resource guard his human, including their lap and attention, and because of this, we believe he will thrive best as the one and only dog in his forever home. Taco currently lives in a foster home with multiple dogs, including a very large Great Dane, so he is certainly capable of coexisting with other dogs. His resource guarding simply means that we want to set him up for success by giving him a home where he doesn’t have to compete for his person’s attention or worry about sharing his favorite spot. Taco is looking for someone who wants a loyal little shadow and understands that his people are his very favorite resource. In return, you’ll have a devoted sidekick who will happily follow you from room to room, accompany you on walks, carry his crinkle toys around the house, and curl up in his crate when it’s time to rest. Taco is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. He’s potty trained, crate trained, and a wonderful leash walker. Now all this little Yorkie-ish guy needs is his person. Could that be you?
