Compton, a lively young pup, came to our shelter on August 7th after being found wandering. He was not claimed during the stray hold and has since been thriving. Born around early July 2026, he is a mix of Boxer and Pit Bull, with potentially some shepherd. This active guy is still quite mischievous, so he will need a patient family that understands the time commitment required for training and socialization. He's still learning to interact well with other pets and will likely do fine with dogs and cats. A home without very young children would be ideal for Compton, as he is currently in the playful mouthy puppy phase where those little teeth can be a bit sharp. He will require regular training and does not enjoy being left alone for long periods. Compton is available for adoption after his second vaccination shot, around September 3rd. Adoption is by appointment only and requires an approved application, which can be submitted on the Mower County Humane Society's website.
