About Leo BONDED WITH
Leo and his companion Lady were left behind when their previous owner moved away. Leo, a white Boxer estimated to be about 4 years old, is deaf but has proven to learn many hand signs quickly. He's both sweet and loyal, always eager to follow his people and watch what they are up to—rarely demanding, but always nearby. Since arriving in foster care, Leo has picked up commands like come, stay, sit, and even signs for 'go for a walk' and 'love.' He lives peacefully with Lady and does well with other dogs; he also lived previously with cats. Leo's protective streak shows most with his foster mom, but ongoing training has helped, and his behavior is improving. While his breathing sometimes sounds raspy, it doesn’t stop him from running or playing fetch with his favorite toys. Leo is house trained, goes to the door when he needs outside, and waits patiently for his people to come home, even when left alone for several hours. He does bark at passing trucks and buses, but stops when redirected. Leo is not a fan of being crated, but he's trustworthy when left free in the house and leaves decorations untouched. He tends to be a 'velcro dog,' following his humans from room to room—a trait likely influenced by his deafness, since he can't track where people go by sound. Leo is looking for a foster or adoptive home where his needs, and the small nuances of his care, are truly understood. Start your journey together! Apply now.
