AvailableScar is a medium-sized adult male domestic short hair cat with a short coat and beautiful orange and white tabby markings. He is neutered, vaccinated, and house trained, making him a fantastic companion. Living in Vine Grove, KY, Scar is ready to find a loving family to call his own.
About Scar
Scar was found as a stray and brought to Hardin County Animal Shelter. After testing positive for FIV, the shelter reached out to see if we could help, and we gladly took him in. He had a wound that needed treatment, which is how he got his name, and he has since healed beautifully. Scar is neutered and fully vaccinated. Initially, he was paired with General Purrshing, another calm kitty, and they got along spectacularly. Now that General Purrshing is pending adoption, Scar has joined the larger group of cats. He thrives on human attention and interacts well with other felines. Scar has a penchant for an indoor/outdoor lifestyle. He would appreciate a home where he can spend his days outside, enjoying nature and keeping an eye on his territory, while curling up peacefully at night in a warm home. It’s important to note that Scar is classified as "special needs" because of his FIV status. However, this does not impact his adoptability. FIV is not contagious to humans or other species; it mostly affects cats and is typically transmitted through deep bites or mating. Since Scar is neutered and not aggressive, he can live with FIV-negative cats, other FIV-positive cats, or be perfectly content as a solo kitty. If you're interested in adopting Scar, the adoption fee is $80 and covers his spay, FIV/FeLV testing, core vaccines, deworming, flea prevention, and microchip.
