Meet Stevie! This 4.5-year-old Australian Shepherd is in search of a loving home where he can feel safe and valued. He’s a mellow boy who's more than happy to stay close to his family without being clingy. Walking with Stevie is a delight; he has a moderate energy level and enjoys meeting people, showing a friendly demeanor towards other dogs too. Though he’s generally quiet, he will make his presence known if something catches his attention. He has been tested with children and is tolerant, though we recommend a home with dog-savvy kids aged 12 and older. He tends to ignore cats, focusing more on bugs and lizards than on pursuing small animals. Weighing around 50 pounds, Stevie boasts a lovely soft red-merle coat that carries more of the Australian Shepherd flair. With typical Poodle-like features, including long legs, he’s a handsome guy with an enthusiastic full tail that never stops wagging! Stevie’s intelligence shines through; he knows basic obedience commands, loves puzzle toys, and has a knack for learning quickly. He takes treats gently and enjoys his walks. Although he’s crate trained and settles down well at night, he does experience some separation anxiety, making it challenging when left alone. With the right structure and continued positive training, there’s hope for improvement. This loyal companion is looking for a home with someone who can be present and provide consistency.
