Meet Bruno, a gentle giant in search of a loving family. This affectionate Great Dane is incredibly sweet and happiest when he's close to you. Calm and easygoing, he loves to share his joy, resting his head on your lap while happily wagging his tail. Bruno does experience a bit of separation anxiety and may whine briefly when someone leaves, but his excitement when they return is heartwarming. Bruno thrives on family time and doesn't require a large yard, preferring a fenced backyard where he can stretch his legs. He is well-mannered, housebroken, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. While he has shown some reluctance during vet visits, he calms down with a muzzle and remains cooperative. Bruno gets along well with the two Great Danes and a Lab mix in his foster home, although he prefers to be a bit independent. His compatibility with cats remains unknown, so a cat-free home may be best due to his interest in chasing squirrels. Bruno enjoys being around older teens and adults but does need a family that understands his size. While he's highly food-motivated, he follows rules around mealtime and can be easily given medications thanks to his love for hickory smoke-flavored treats. This loyal companion is currently heartworm positive and requires ongoing treatment. Despite his health challenges, he remains a loving shadow who treasures every moment spent with his people.
