Meet Flora, a delightful 3-year-old spayed female Carolina Dog mix who weighs around 46 pounds. Nicknamed Sweetpea, Flora is playful and full of energy, always ready for a game of chase or a wrestling match with her doggy friends. She thrives in a home with dogs of a similar size and energy level, and when she plays, she could go for hours. While she has successfully played with both a Cocker Spaniel and a Pyrenees mix, Flora does require slow introductions to new dogs due to some lease reactivity. Her ideal companion would balance her energy with similar enthusiasm. Flora has an infectious affection for the 8-year-old child in her foster home, yet she remains wary of new kids she hasn’t met before. She may not be the best fit for a bustling family, as she displays some anxiety around strangers and can bark at newcomers, particularly if they move quickly. To ensure her comfort, a calmer adult household is recommended. Despite some anxiety, Flora is fully housebroken and has made great strides in her behavior thanks to positive reinforcement training. She enjoys outdoor activities such as running and playing fetch, but she’s also a cuddler who loves snuggling up close. While she does well without a crate at home, she can show some panic during storms. Flora is a bright companion that learns quickly and rewards a loving home with years of loyalty and joy.
