About Roux in Maine
Meet Roux, a lovely Catahoula Leopard Dog ready to charm her way into your heart. At just 4 months old and around 25 lbs, she’s still growing and full of potential. Roux is currently thriving in her foster home in Kennebunkport, ME, where she enjoys the great outdoors, runs with her furry foster sister, and is even learning the art of fetch—though she hasn’t quite mastered bringing the ball back yet. This playful pup is friendly with other dogs and shows no interest in the resident cats, but she loves to try her hand at herding her canine companion. Roux is still gaining her confidence and can be a bit shy around new people. She warms up quickly, especially when food is involved! Crate training is going well, and she’s learning to wait patiently for meals and take treats gently. Roux has a charming quirk: when she’s nervous, she hides among the flowers in her foster mom’s garden, believing herself to be a beautiful flower too. A clever girl, Roux is eager for training and will benefit from an active home where she can engage in plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. She will need guidance and a leash or long lead to explore safely, as she has shown interest in being an escape artist. Are you ready to give Roux a loving forever home?
