Handsome Billy is a 4.5-year-old miniature Australian Shepherd weighing between 35 and 40 pounds. He’s looking for a new home where he can be the only dog, as he's been having challenges with resource guarding in a multi-dog setting. Billy embodies playfulness and goofiness. He adores giving hugs, swimming, and fetching frisbees. His affectionate nature shines through when he gets attention from his people, and he’s fully house trained and kennel trained. Billy has participated in three obedience classes and has great recall, showing that he's obedient once he builds trust. While he can be shy, especially around strangers, he opens up quickly and enjoys being around women more than men. However, he would thrive best in a home without small children. Billy is great with cats and enjoys the company of people. The ideal home for him will be one without other dogs, offering him a peaceful environment where he can flourish without the stress of competition. Billy is up to date on vaccinations and ready for adoption through Aussie Rescue Minnesota. He'll remain with his loving owners in Elk River until a suitable foster or permanent home is found.
