About Milo
Say hi to Milo! Milo was adopted as a puppy and is now nearly 7 years old, looking for a quieter home after it became obvious he isn’t comfortable around young children. He’s a large, healthy Aussie and German Shepherd mix, weighing about 75 lbs. When he was younger, Milo survived dual broken legs after an accident but recovered well with surgery. These days, he only develops a slight limp if he sleeps awkwardly, though as he ages, he’ll need someone who will keep an eye on the hardware in his hips. For now, he doesn’t have any activity restrictions and can enjoy all of his favorite pastimes. Milo’s social with other dogs, especially females, but he can be a bit possessive with other males when it comes to food or a favorite person. He’s house trained, crate trained, and currently does well with invisible fencing. Off-leash, he has reliable recall with people he knows. There’s no known history with cats. Milo shouldn’t be in a home with children under five, but he thrives where routines are predictable and he can make his dog friends on his own terms. He’s currently living with his owner in the southern suburbs of the Twin Cities, waiting for someone ready for a loyal companion. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Milo
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

A large, securely fenced yard or open acreage suits Milo's breed mix well. Both Aussies and German Shepherds are working dogs who appreciate space to move and play.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While both Aussie and German Shepherd mixes can be family-friendly, Milo is not comfortable with children under five and should be placed in a home with older kids or adults only.
