Mia

About Mia
Mia, affectionately called "Pork Chop," has had quite the journey. She was first rescued in 2022 after being found as a stray, later reunited with her family, and now finds herself back in rescue after being found exhausted on a busy road. Thanks to her microchip and a caring stranger, she made it back safely. When she returned to rescue, Mia was filthy and heavily matted, with her weight jumping from 50 to 87 pounds. She's now a 5-year-old black and brown Aussie mix who is spayed and fully vaccinated, and she's begun her weight loss journey in foster care. Mia is crate trained and housebroken, and she thrives on human attention. She starts off friendly with other dogs, but she's now shown to be dog selective—ideally, she'd live with an assertive but calm dog. Her behavior with kids hasn't been fully tested, so she is only being placed with families with children aged 10 or older. No one is requiring a fenced yard, but any adopter must show how they will keep her safe until recall is reliable. If you're seeking a loyal companion with a big personality and a soft side, Mia might be the perfect fit. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
