About Haywood
Meet Haywood! This tiny sweetheart was rescued from a shelter, where he was left in rough shape. After a much-needed grooming, thanks to Amy at Pawpular Pets, he has transformed into a whole new dog! Haywood is approximately 1 year old and a sweet mix of Shih Tzu. At just 9 pounds, he is fully grown and has a lovely long coat. Neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped, he is heartworm negative and ready for a loving home. Initially terrified after his neglect, he was growly at the shelter but quickly melted into a friendly boy once he felt safe. He needs a little time to adjust to new people, but once he warms up, he becomes a cuddly companion. Haywood is house trained and appreciates his crate as a safe space, sleeping peacefully overnight. Though he’s still getting used to walking on a leash, he enjoys car rides, either on your lap or safely in a crate. Haywood gets along well with other dogs and would likely do well with older, respectful children. While he has a gentle demeanor, he may become more playful as he settles in. Keep in mind that regular grooming is essential for him, requiring some commitment in time and expense. If you’re looking for an easy-going friend who just needs a bit of patience to adjust, Haywood may be the perfect match for you. Located in Yorktown, VA. Click apply to start the adoption process.
