About Ginger
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Meet Pumpkin and Ginger—bonded Shih Tzu sisters searching for a forever home where they can remain together. Pumpkin, a black Shih Tzu aged 9, and Ginger, a pewter Shih Tzu aged 8, are pint-sized senior ladies, each weighing about 10 lbs. These inseparable girls were gently surrendered by their previous owners, and have since thrived under loving foster care. Both sisters have managed chronic skin and ear issues, which are quite common among Shih Tzus. Ongoing care includes weekly or twice-weekly medicated baths, topical sprays or wipes, occasional ear cleanings, grooming, haircuts, and a special chicken-free diet to help manage skin sensitivities from the inside out. Their meals feature wholesome ingredients like fish-based kibble, green veggies, beef, Greek yogurt, and supplements—all easy to prepare and prescription-free. Ginger is easygoing with her care, while Pumpkin adds a touch of sass, but both are affectionate and sweet-natured. These ladies are lap lovers who enjoy naps, sunbathing, gentle brushing, short walks, and lounging on plush beds. They’re mostly housebroken, crate trained, ride calmly in the car, pay no mind to cats, and get along with gentle canine pals. Though they can be left alone, they flourish in a gentle, quiet home with a small fenced yard, few stairs, and a consistent routine. Due to their small size and needs, homes with energetic dogs or small children may not be the best fit. Their adorable underbites and habit of sticking out their tongues make them extra endearing companions. If your home is ready for two loving, low-key seniors who blossom with affection and routine, Pumpkin and Ginger are eager to meet you. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
