Meet #Hunter Can we talk about this handsome guy for a minute? Hunter is a young German Shepherd, estimated to be around 2 years old and weighing in at about 70 pounds of pure potential. He came into our care just recently, and while we're still getting to know him, one thing is already very clear... we really, really like this boy. And can we take a moment to appreciate that adorable cargo-style harness he's sporting? It looks like he's packed all his essentials and is ready to report for duty! Whether it's hiking a trail, exploring a park, going on a road trip, or simply joining you on your daily adventures, Hunter looks like he's prepared for a day full of excitement and fun. Hunter is smart, curious, and eager to be involved in whatever you're doing. He loves toys, enjoys spending time with people, and while he does occasionally jump up to say hello, he does it in the gentlest way possible. He's just excited to make friends! Like many young shepherds, Hunter could use a little polishing when it comes to leash manners, but that's nothing some consistency, training, and structure can't fix. In fact, German Shepherds thrive when they have a job to do. They love learning, staying busy, working their minds, and building a strong bond with their people. They're incredibly loyal dogs who want nothing more than to be part of the action. We have not cat tested Hunter at this time. He has shown some reactivity to other dogs passing by his kennel, but he's also still very new to shelter life. The shelter can be overwhelming, and we are continuing to learn more about him every day. What Hunter really needs is a responsible German Shepherd adopter who understands the breed's needs for exercise, training, mental stimulation, and companionship.
