About Hunter

Meet Hunter! This handsome 5-year-old purebred chocolate Labrador Retriever is looking for a new home after being surrendered due to his family's sudden move abroad for work. Hunter was well-loved and is now in a kennel, waiting for a foster or adoptive family to take him in. If you have room in your heart for this goofy, big boy, please reach out to us. Hunter loves to play fetch and splash around in a kiddie pool. He's previously lived with children and is very tolerant and affectionate with them. Whether running in a large fenced yard or going for walks, he enjoys being active. He even accompanied his dad to work, where he kept a watchful eye on the site. Fabulous in the car, Hunter hops in ready for an adventure. Described as friendly, playful, independent, and confident, Hunter walks well on a leash, often ignoring other barking dogs. He has played off-leash with a small breed dog and had a great time, but his behavior around cats is still a mystery. Crate trained and good at settling down, he typically spends only a few hours in his crate during the day. Knowing several commands, including some in Spanish, makes training easier, especially since he's food and toy motivated. Hunter is up to date on vaccinations but will need to be neutered. This active, happy boy deserves to be back in a loving home where he can get the attention he craves. Consider opening your heart and home to Hunter!
