About Otis
Otis is a 6-and-a-half-year-old neutered blue merle Australian Shepherd with a signature nub tail. He's been a sweetheart and quite the cuddler, always eager to greet every person he meets. Friendly and social, Otis isnāt shy with strangers; heāll wander over for a hello, never jumps, and enjoys being petted everywhere. He has a medium energy level and loves his toys, but heās happiest when heās around people. Otis gets along well with other dogs, having lived and interacted peacefully with both his current family's dog and dogs he's met during his evaluation. However, he is not suited for a home with cats and doesnāt tolerate farm pigs. His behavior around children isnāt known, so a home with adults may be safest. In terms of habits, Otis is house trained, food motivated, and sits automatically for treats. He responds well to his name, enjoys car rides, and isnāt a resource guarder. While he does pull on leashādue to rarely being leashed on his original farmāheās eager to learn with guidance, patience, and consistent structure. He alerts to passing cars and barks at the door but does not overreact. Otis thrives with someone who has the time, energy, and willingness to help him settle in and continue learning house manners.
