About Cora Jane

If you’re looking for a goofy, smart, affectionate girl with a HUGE personality, meet Cora Jane—Cora for short! Cora is a beautiful 4-year-old Black Tri with striking blue eyes and an adorable nub tail. Her family describes her as “fully Aussie-goofy, super smart, tons of personality,” and we think that says it all. She’s a cuddly, velcro girl who wants to be wherever her people are—and she will happily nudge you in the direction she thinks you should be going. She definitely has opinions! Cora loves people, pets, adventures, and being involved in whatever you’re doing. She enjoys hiking, camping, car rides, evening walks, playing in her fenced yard, and of course, fetch—although she plays fetch very much by her own rules! She also loves chewing her tennis balls and will bring you a well-loved ball when it’s time for a replacement. Cora currently lives with her family, two teenagers, and a cat. Cora has done well at playgroups and with dogs she knows. She is 100% housebroken, knows basic cues including sit, stay and kisses, and is wonderfully treat motivated. She walks in an EZ Walk harness and may pull and weave a little at first but settles as she gets going. She even tolerates wearing goggles in the car because she LOVES sticking her head out the window. Like many dogs, Cora has a few quirks that her future family will need to understand. She struggles with being left alone for long periods and experiences anxiety when home alone. She may pace, pant and bark, but she is not destructive. Crating makes her anxiety much worse, so she should not be crated. Her current family is rehoming her because their work and busy schedules require her to be alone for 7–10 hours, and they want her to have a home where she can get the companionship she needs. Cora can also be a big communicator! She may bark at people, dogs, bikes, Amazon trucks and loud noises. Fireworks, thunder, gunshots and loud traffic can make her anxious. With patience, appropriate introductions and support, she does well with dogs she knows. She does have some resource guarding around certain high-value bones and toys, so those items simply need to be managed around other dogs. Cora is looking for a family who will appreciate her big personality, give her structure and companionship, and help her continue building confidence. Someone who enjoys adventures but also appreciates a serious cuddle bug would be a wonderful match. If you’re looking for a goofy, loving, clever, adventurous, treat-motivated, blue-eyed best friend with a little sass and a LOT of personality, Cora Jane may be your girl!
