About Bonnie
Meet Bonnie! This sweet Australian Shepherd has found herself searching for a new forever home through no fault of her own. An 8-year-old blue merle female, Bonnie is spayed and fully vaccinated. She’s currently living with someone who intended to temporarily care for her, but due to their medical and financial constraints, Bonnie needs a new family. Weighing in at 43 pounds, she’s affectionate and loves cuddling on the couch. Bonnie enjoys medium-energy activities like short walks, sniffing along the way, and she’s even potty trained. She experiences about one seizure annually, which is being monitored by her vet. Though she can get anxious during stressful situations, she has medication to help when needed. Bonnie has good house manners and often sleeps on the floor near her humans—then roams the house at night. She can be a bit of a counter surfer and might rummage through the trash, so keeping things secure is ideal. Bonnie is good with other dogs, although she may pull on the leash when greeting them. She ignores other dogs after introductions and could thrive as an only dog. While she lived with a cat in her first year, her current reaction to them is unknown. Though she’s not perfect with recall, she doesn’t tend to wander off. Bonnie is friendly with strangers but could benefit from some additional training to manage her jumping excitement.
