About Mateo

Meet Mateo, a playful and athletic Pit Bull Terrier who’s spent too much time waiting for the right person in Spring, TX. Rescued from tough beginnings on the street, Mateo brings endless energy and loves a good game of fetch – his rubber ball is his most prized possession. He thrives with people who enjoy an active lifestyle, whether that means hiking, tossing a football, or long walks. His silly side shows up in his goofy roll-arounds and excited wiggles, and he greets friends with tail wags and plenty of face and ear kisses. Cold weather brings out his cuddle mode; he’s happy to snuggle close when it's chilly. Mateo needs to be your one and only pet. He doesn't get along with cats or other dogs, likely a result of his time fending for himself before rescue. He does, however, get along well with children and loves being around people who make him feel safe. Mateo is house trained, neutered, and current on all his vaccines. The rescue supports adopters to make sure both sides settle in comfortably. Mateo has been overlooked for far too long—he’s ready to become someone’s athletic partner and loyal companion.
