About Margot
Due to border patrol restrictions, you'll be required to cross the border and meet in Blaine, WA to receive your pup :) Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio. Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Margot. Margot is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up. Meet Margot! Margot is a 1 year old female pittie mix who currently weighs 65 pounds. Margot is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and ready to find her forever home! Margot was found lying next to a donation bin outside of a waffle house. We're not sure if she was dumped there or just happened to wander over to the waffle house looking for breakfast. The woman who found her said she was so sweet and immediately came over to her looking for pets and then followed her to the car. Margot is dog friendly and currently lives with a dachshund. She would LOVE a dog friend that is her size or that she is able to play with her. Margot has not been cat tested, but we can happily test her for any serious potential adopters with cats. While Margot doesn't live with children, she is SO gentle. She can be a little shy at first, so older children who can be respectful would probably be best. She warms up in no time, especially if there is a dog around! Margot walks okay on the leash. She does pull a little, but walks best with a harness. She can be shy when it comes to cats, people or other dogs who may try to approach her. There's not an aggressive bone in her body, so she would turn the other way or stop. Margot is fully potty trained and has never had an accident in her foster home. Margot is also crate trained and goes into her crate with no issues. She is so smart and learned our routine so quick! I believe she can be trusted in the home outside the crate, I just prefer crating her. She seems to know only to chew toys and not furniture. Only toys have been destroyed. Her bed is still in one piece. Margot is great about sharing her food, toys and treats. The dachshund in the home will frequently go over to her food bowl and she will step back so he can sniff her food and take what he wants. Here's a small blurb about Margot from her foster home: Oh, sweet Margot! I truly feel like I hit the foster dog jackpot! She listens, she knows simple terms such as: sit, bed, come, stay, wait, leave it. She gives the best hugs when you invite her to jump up on you. If you put up a baby gate, she won't knock it over (even though she easily could with her body weight). She is a silly nilly! She is so smart and has so much potential. Margot would LOVE an active home or family. She enjoys going walking, running, playing fetch, tug-of-war, if you are playing with her, she is a happy camper! I am certain that she would THRIVE with another large dog who loves to play. She is also a huge cuddler, so if you like cuddles on the couch then Margot is your girl! On a scale of 1-10, her energy is an 8. She can relax and just sit on the floor chewing a toy, but she would prefer to be playing or doing something. She will alert you that someone's at the door and bark. She's great when people come over to visit. She initially barks, but is happy to meet and greet new people and ask for cuddles and pets. She loves her toys and finding the squeaker as soon as possible! She's great in the car and just sits quietly in the backseat. Margot will make the perfect addition to any loving home!
