About Ridge

Ridge is an 8-month-old Anatolian Shepherd who landed here from a tough hoarding situation, yet you wouldn't know it from his outlook. This is a bright, energetic, and people-loving dog who's equally fond of other dogs and is even good with cats. Ridge brings a puppy’s spirit to everything but is already a big boy, with room left to grow into an even larger presence—both physically and personality-wise. He's quick to make friends, throws himself into play, and greets each day with genuine enthusiasm. The Roomba, however, remains suspect in his eyes. Because Ridge is still young, full of size, and learning his own strength, he's best suited to homes with a fenced yard and kids over 10. Apartments or leash-walk-only routines won't cut it for this breed—he needs space, structure, and someone who respects what it means to live with an Anatolian (hint: not a golden retriever with extra fluff). If your vacuum is rarely used and you take life with humor, you'll get along just fine. Ridge is ready for an adopter who can provide boundaries, guidance, and plenty of room for both body and mind to grow. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Ridge

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Anatolian Shepherds like Ridge are happiest with plenty of outdoor space—think a large, fenced yard—so they can exercise and patrol as their instincts dictate.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Ridge's breed can do well with children, but his size and energy mean he's best matched with households where kids are older and comfortable around big, playful dogs.
