About Riggs
Riggs is a nine-month-old Anatolian Shepherd who landed at the rescue after a life spent with over 40 other dogs. His elderly owners kept the basics going, but growing up around so many dogs left little room for the social skills that most puppies pick up early on. He's gentle, sweet, and naturally shy, leaning toward timidity with new situations or people. Riggs keeps things low-key, preferring calm approaches and extra time to evaluate what’s going on before he relaxes. He gets along well with both dogs and cats, and he really comes out of his shell when he has a friendly dog companion. If you already have a mellow, social dog at home, that’s Riggs’ kind of place. A securely fenced yard is a must, not just for his safety but because unexpected noises and chaos make him pretty uneasy. Riggs isn’t interested in the commotion that comes with little kids, but respectful, calm children over 10 should be okay. He appreciates quiet, gentle people and a steady, predictable environment. Riggs is especially fond of treats, canine friends, and a house set at a sensible 72 degrees. Fireworks and loud holidays are not his thing, so he’ll thrive with people who plan accordingly. Ideally, you have a house with low drama and plenty of patience. Riggs will blossom with structure, kindness, and time. If you’re looking for a quiet, thoughtful dog who just needs a little understanding, Riggs will fit right in. Click apply to start the adoption process.
