About Roman

This sweetheart of a dog is Roman. If you follow our rescue, you might recall that we saved several Anatolians from a hoarding case a few months ago. This special guy is one of them (though he is likely mixed with a Pyr). Roman is about 7 months old and doing exceptionally well acclimating to what life should be like for a dog -- a soft bed, lots of affection, fun adventures, and, most importantly, a safe home where he doesn't have to want for anything. He is currently living in foster home and is making great progress every day. Naturally a bit nervous about the world, he is becoming very brave and coming out of his shell. Roman loves to play with other dogs and has learned to respectfully leave uninterested dogs alone. He seems ok with cats but would probably do best with the ones who are ok being chased or tormented just a little bit. He is young and is learning basic manners -- jumping is not allowed, chewing on things that aren't toys is not acceptable, and walking on a leash means you don't pull. He is a big boy and is very sweet, but due to his size and lack of spacial awareness, sturdy kids are preferred. Roman's ideal home will have a fenced yard or access to a fenced area. He would also prefer to have another dog in the home, or at least regularly scheduled playdates. His future home needs to realize he is still a puppy who had a bit of a traumatic start to life, so he needs family committed to helping him gain confidence and learn basic obedience. Roman is in Nashville, TN and can travel. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please apply online, at https://bigfluffydogs.com/dog-adoption/.
