Raquel
AvailableRaquel is a young Anatolian Shepherd living in Nashville, TN. She has a long, red/chestnut/orange coat and is expected to become quite large. About Raquel
Raquel is an Anatolian Shepherd just under a year old, making her a curious Cancer. She came from a large dog hoarding situation where, while basic needs were met, socialization was missing from her early life. Despite this tough start, Raquel has a gentle temperament and an obvious desire to connect. She’s on the timid side, but progress is clear: she’s moved past being completely shut down and is starting to show trust and interest in her surroundings. It doesn’t take much to overwhelm her sometimes, so she benefits from a slow, steady pace and patience. Indoor living and leash walking are both new territory for Raquel, so she’ll need routine and calm guidance as she continues to settle into home life. Having a confident, friendly dog in the household would speed up her confidence-building since she’s quick to learn from others. Raquel does best in homes with secure fenced yards—she’ll be a large dog, well over 100 pounds once fully grown, and needs adopters equipped for her size. She already gets along well with other dogs and cats. Because she startles easily and is still learning to trust, any children in the home should be over 10 and gentle. Raquel will reward your patience with genuine sweetness and quiet moments of affection. She is looking for someone willing to invest in her journey. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
