About Blaze
Blaze stands out from the moment you see him—a classic Border Collie with sharp black and cream coloring, a lively glint in his eye, and a contagious enthusiasm for life. At 5 years old, he’s got that ideal mix of youthful energy and well-honed manners. Blaze is happiest outside for a game of frisbee or fetch, but he’s equally content stretched out at your feet once the action is done. He truly wants to be part of whatever his people are up to—walks, park visits, backyard barbecues, you name it. He’s affectionate and adventurous, with an easygoing personality that wins people over quickly. He’s already house trained, walks smoothly on leash, is crate trained, and knows a handful of obedience cues—and thanks to his work ethic and love of treats, he’ll pick up anything new you want to teach. Blaze needs a family familiar with herding breeds who will appreciate both his intelligence and the typical nipping that comes with it (older kids only suit him best). Blaze isn’t a candidate for a home with cats, but he’d be happy solo or with another friendly dog. The ideal setup includes a secure fence and plenty of room to play—and a willingness to help him drop 7-8 pounds will keep him feeling his best. If you want a loyal adventure partner who tags along on every outing and then winds down with you at home, Blaze just might be your match. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!

How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Being a Border Collie, Blaze will thrive with a fenced yard and regular opportunities to run and play. He will appreciate daily activities and plenty of room to expend his energy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Border Collies like Blaze are best matched with homes that have older children. Their herding instincts can mean nipping at heels, so homes with small kids may not be ideal.
