Smart and attentive, Ziggy is the type of dog who forms deep, lasting bonds with her trusted people. She announces new guests with a bark, but after a quick introduction, she’ll nudge your hand for chest scratches and quickly claim her spot as your loyal couch companion. Ziggy thrives on routine and closeness; she loves car rides, hiking, exploring, and will curl up next to you, content to stick by your side. Her intelligence shines through in her training—she knows tricks, has impressive recall indoors, and has been geo-trained to a hidden fence. Ziggy behaves well at home, hasn’t destroyed household items, and happily entertains herself with her toys (especially her stuffed frog). She’s comfortable being left alone for up to six hours and loves a quiet environment where adults or older, dog-savvy kids are present. Ziggy needs to be the only dog in the home. She tends to be reactive with other dogs, especially on leash or in group walks, and may guard her food and favorite spots. She also isn’t suitable for families with young children, given her herding instincts. A home with a securely fenced yard is required. Cats and other animals remain an unknown. Ziggy is fully vetted, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. She does have allergies and takes daily Benadryl and seasonal Cytopoint injections, which should be continued.
