About Annie
If you're looking for a dog who wants in on everything you do, Annie might be the perfect match. She’s a 5-month-old Australian Shepherd mix who’s just as happy shadowing you through the house as she is curled up after a play session. Annie thrives on human attention and will stick close, whether it’s TV time or a trip room to room. Her social instincts run strong—she’s shown she gets along well with other dogs and adapts to their boundaries, especially with her foster’s three dogs. Annie brings plenty of playful, classic puppy energy. She loves toys, games of tug, and food puzzles like frozen Kongs. When excitement leads to mouthing, Annie redirects to toys without trouble. This social pup is already house trained with regular breaks, does fine in her crate after a brief protest, and has picked up basics like her name, ‘sit’, and reliable recall. Annie’s energy is moderate—expect both goofball antics and solid downtime. The rescue requires Annie’s adopter to complete a positive reinforcement training class in Troy, VA. Preference will be given to adopters willing to do a six-week, in-person training, though arrangements can sometimes be made for out-of-area homes willing to fulfill specific training requirements and come for a meet and greet. Annie’s adoption fee is $400, which covers her vaccines and spay surgery. Closing this chapter means Annie will finally have the steady home she’s been waiting for.
