Gertrude entered Riverside Shelter as a stray, and it's heartbreaking to picture this delicate little girl out in the world by herself. Gertrude was not doing well at the shelter, so staff emailed asking us to rescue her by the end of the day on May 26th. We are working on showing Gertrude that she is very special by holding her close, kissing her gently on the forehead, and telling her she is loved. Despite her normal labwork, she has some very big mammary masses, but more significantly, her mentation seems quite dull. We know from previous experience that loving care can work miracles, and we are hoping it will for sweet Gertrude. Stay tuned for updates on how she is doing!
