About Duke
Duke is a 5-month-old Great Dane mix in Monroe, NC, and can be transported along the east coast. Born on January 1, Duke is a classic Capricorn: loyal, determined, and quick to win over any crowd. He's pure puppy energy who grew up outdoors with his siblings until just a few weeks ago, so now he's making up for lost time with all the affection he can get. This is your shadow—if you’re looking for a cuddle buddy who insists on being wherever you are, Duke is the definition of a Velcro dog. He’s goofy, with an adorable hopping run, and fits right in with the four other dogs in his foster home. Duke knows when to back off the older dogs but will play all day with the younger, rowdier crew. He’s mostly housetrained and does fine in a crate, though he’d much rather be snuggling at night. Car rides are new for him, and he still needs help getting in and out. Duke hasn’t met any cats yet, but he gets along with every dog he meets and is consistently gentle with children. Confident and attentive, he’d be just as happy chilling at a brewery as he would be hitting a hiking trail. Give him a family and a couch, and he’s set. Give them the home they have been waiting for.
