About Chauncey
Start your journey together! Apply now. Chauncey is a gentle giant with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He has come a long way in his foster home after overcoming a difficult past that left him with some physical and emotional scars. Although he still experiences some anxiety—especially during car rides and when meeting new people—he is working with a wonderful trainer to gain confidence and discover that the world is full of kindness. Chauncey loves to play and wrestle with other medium to large dogs and enjoys stealing toys with his foster sister. However, cats and small animals are a bit too exciting for him, so a feline-free, small-dog-free household would suit him best. He thrives in a calm home with patient humans who understand that his 158 pounds of love can be a little overwhelming for small children, making a family with kids aged 12 and up ideal. House trained and neutered, Chauncey is also up-to-date on his vaccines. He’s vocal and opinionated about mealtime but practices his "sit and wait" politely. Since he can get a bit mouthy when bored, he has his own space to relax when left alone, and he loves having sturdy toys to chew on for comfort. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will be by your side and fill your days with affection and a touch of playfulness, Chauncey could be your perfect match. He’s being fostered in Asheville, NC, and is ready to find his forever home with someone committed to helping him feel safe and loved. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
