About Archer
Archer, also called Archie by his foster mom, is a sharp and adaptable Great Dane who listens to both names. Nearly 7 years old, he has the energy of a much younger dog, happily joining short walks and never turning down a car ride. He’s eager for play, wrestling with his much younger foster sister, and coexisting peacefully with the household cats, whom he mostly ignores. Comfortable out in public, Archer has handled both PetSmart and Lowes like a pro. He’s house trained, reliable indoors, and knows his basic commands (though he’s not a fan of the STAY command). He prefers having people around, not being left behind. While Archer can be reserved with big men and young children, older kids and gentle company suit him well. Any time strangers or young kids visit, he’s likely to find a safe spot next to his foster mom. Now fully recovered from prior skin and ear infections, Archer’s ready for his own stable, loving home. He’s looking for a family that understands big dogs, ideally with a secure yard and older children, and who’s willing to be patient as he settles in. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
