About Hank
Hank is a 14-month-old golden retriever looking for a home, ideally alongside his companion Maggie. This young dog bursts with energy and playfulness, and heās happiest when heās close to his people. His sweet nature stands outāhe isnāt prone to aggression or guarding and greets every person and dog with a friendly attitude. Hank sticks to chewing on his toys and bones and rarely barks. Heās housebroken, partially crate trained, and content to sleep through the night on his bed. In the car, heās a quiet passenger, though he needs help getting in since he doesnāt jump onto furniture either. Hank knows several basic commands and is quite treat-motivatedāthough he sometimes needs the extra incentive. He does get distracted easily, so patience with his training is helpful. Leash manners are still a work in progress for Hank. He pulls on a collar or harness, but a Gentle Leader helps ease the tugging. His drive to chase small animals and cats is strong, so homes with cats are not a fit. Hankās a smart, eager-to-please dog with lots of youthful enthusiasm and will make a loyal companion for the right adopter. Click apply to start the adoption process.
