About Maggie
Maggie is a 2.5-year-old female golden retriever with a big personality and boundless energy. She’s always up for playtime, especially tug-of-war with ropes or interactive toys, and she happily initiates games with her buddy Hank. Maggie adores being close to her people, often curling up for snuggles on the couch. Sweet-natured and social, Maggie greets new humans and dogs alike with warmth—she’s never shown aggression or resource guarding. She’s content to chew only on toys or bones and rarely barks. Fully housebroken and partially crate trained, Maggie is a champ on car rides and settles in to sleep on her own bed at night. She knows basic commands and responds especially well if treats are involved—though she sometimes requires a bit more convincing without them. Maggie could use more practice on the leash; with a Gentle Leader she does well, but she tends to pull with a regular collar or harness. Her high prey drive means she fixates on chipmunks, squirrels, and especially cats, so a home without cats is best. Maggie is available in Waterville, OH—she can be adopted with Hank or separately.
