About Local Cat Hotcakes

MEET “HOTCAKES” HOTA… She lost her home when her companion had to move several states away and could not take her with him. She came with the name “Hota,” but we’ve taken to calling her Hotcakes, though she’s as sweet as a cupcake! She enjoys a lot of petting, a little holding, and is just starting to get used to life at the shelter, coming out of her cage exploring the cat room more. She is a very nice cat, very personable and social with her human companions, though she is a bit put out by other cats, as she never lived with any before. So, a home with no other cats right now would be best for her, but she is young and, as such, will probably accept a kitten into her life once she is settled in her new home and has established herself as the “alpha,” should you wish to have more than one cat eventually. We’re not sure how she feels about dogs, but if you have a dog and are interested, let us know and we’ll ask her opinion of one. She should be a fine addition to homes with people of all ages, from seniors to small children, and would probably really enjoy the affections of children. Hotcakes Hota is estimated to be 2 years old, is spayed, box-trained, current on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and received de-wormers and flea treatments. Adoption fee is $125. Personal checks are accepted from R.I. residents only; all others may pay by credit/debit card or money order, payable to “Town of Scituate.” No cash is accepted. For more information or an application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net or call the shelter at (401) 647-7200. You can also visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri 7 to 11 am, Sat 10 am to 3 pm (or Sun and Mon by private appointment). Please call before visiting to coordinate a visit, as we’re not yet sure what the Memorial Day holiday weekend hours will be.
