Boo is a 9-year-old wirehaired Dachshund/Chihuahua mix living in Bellingham, WA, and her family is seeking the perfect new home for her after a job change. She’s clever, silly, and loves being the star attraction in any room. Boo is sweet-natured and food-driven, with plenty of pep left — she’s still up for long walks, gentle hikes, squeaky toys, and zoomies around the house. After burning off energy, she’ll happily burrow next to you, always aiming for a spot under the blankets. Boo does require Vetmedin twice daily for a heart murmur, but she doesn’t let it slow her down. She’s looking for a calm, patient, dog-savvy home and isn’t a fan of noisy environments or lots of strangers; expect a barking greeting from this self-appointed security chief. Once she’s comfortable, though, Boo is deeply loving and loyal. She gets along well with other dogs but would truly thrive as the center of your universe, ideally as a solo pet. Young kids aren’t the best fit, as quick movements or loud noises make her nervous. Cats aren’t her favorite, and neighborhood wildlife gets a full-throated Boo commentary.
