About Cayenne
Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Meet Cayenne, a soft-hearted and shy little girl who is searching for a calm, loving forever home. Cayenne's true joy comes from playing with other small dogs—she is most comfortable and happiest when paired with a like-sized canine friend. For that reason, her future adopter must have another small dog or be willing to adopt Cayenne alongside one of her playgroup buddies. Cayenne is not an adventurer; she prefers her home and backyard to walks, drives, or trips. While gentle and sweet, she takes time to trust people, but once she does she is devoted in her own quiet way. She adores other dogs and gets along very well with cats, displaying her gentle nature around both. Due to her small stature and reserved personality, only homes with securely fenced yards and no large dogs will be considered. Cayenne does best in her crate and prefers a cozy, safe environment—wire or soft crates are not accepted for her safety. She tolerates being held but isn't a lap dog who loves snuggling; her comfort is found among her furry friends. Apartments aren't the right fit, but some condos or homes with a private fenced yard may be considered. Cayenne's adoption is restricted to Western Washington and possibly parts of Northern Oregon on a case-by-case basis. Out-of-state adoptions are not available at this time and meet-and-greets will be held in her foster home in Poulsbo, WA. Her adoption fee is $600, which helps support Rescue Every Dog's mission to care for and place pets in loving homes. If you are ready to open your heart and home to Cayenne, please review all requirements before applying—she truly deserves a peaceful home with a playful canine companion.
