FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Garth! Garth is a 1½-year-old, 14 lb Spaniel/Dachshund mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. This little guy is looking for a patient, understanding home where he can truly feel safe and loved! Garth is a shy and sensitive boy who takes time to warm up to new people and environments. He can be skittish at first and will need adopters who understand that building trust doesn’t happen overnight—but is so worth it. Once Garth feels comfortable and bonds with his people, he becomes incredibly sweet, playful, and affectionate. He forms deep connections and loves being close to his people. He does well with other dogs and enjoys running around and playing, though he can occasionally be a bit bossy with his canine friends. A well-matched dog companion could be a great fit for him. Garth will need a quiet, calm home outside of a busy city environment, where he won’t feel overwhelmed by noise and constant activity. Because of his sensitive nature, he is looking for a home without young children. With time, patience, and a gentle approach, Garth will continue to grow in confidence and show more of his loving personality each day.
