She has special needs due to losing a leg, but this brave girl doesn’t let it slow her down. Penelope does best as the only dog and isn’t a match for homes with cats, but she thrives around children.
About Penelope
Penelope might look a little tough, but she’s a total softie at heart. Her short black coat, cropped ears, and a few battle scars paint a picture of resilience, not aggression. She came to the rescue after being hit by a car, which led to the loss of one of her legs. Don’t feel sorry for her—she’s fully recovered and races around the yard with a toy in her mouth, outpacing most four-legged dogs. She’s vibrant, sharp, and really just wants to belong somewhere. Penelope is known for her cuddly side, playful antics, and the way she lights up when kids are around. She’s proven to be highly housebroken, crate trained, and generally easy to live with. Penny prefers to be your one and only dog—she gets along with others at a distance but definitely wants center stage at home. She also doesn’t get along with cats, so a no-cat, single-dog home is best. Every visitor ends up falling for her loyal and goofy personality. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
