About Ace

Built Like a Tough Guy. Acts Like Your Best Friend From Summer Camp. Ace is the kind of dog that walks into a room looking like he should be working security at a roadside biker bar… and then immediately sits politely for a strawberry. At 2 years old and 65 lbs, this handsome black-and-tan boy has the face of a Labrottie and the emotional personality of a golden retriever who just heard somebody say “good boy” from across the county line. He is EXTREMELY friendly. Like, suspiciously friendly. New people? Loves them. Kids? Obsessed. Dogs? Absolutely yes. Cats? Also yes. Ace lived with a cat when he was younger and has continued to do well around cats since. He’s the kind of dog that sees a cat, processes the information, and then decides it’s honestly none of his business. Ace genuinely approaches life like he’s trying to make sure everybody’s having a nice time. He’s confident, social, easygoing, and honestly just one of those dogs that feels good to be around. The kind of dog that follows you outside while you’re doing absolutely nothing important and somehow turns it into a full event. You go out to take the trash out and suddenly y’all are standing in the driveway together staring at birds like two retired mechanics on lunch break. And despite being young and playful, Ace already has really solid house manners. He’s fully potty trained, kennel trained, walks fairly well on leash, and settles beautifully inside. He does have some goofy puppy habits here and there—occasional excitement, occasional testing boundaries—but in a very normal “young dog with too much joy in his body” kind of way. Nothing dramatic. He responds well to correction and genuinely wants to do the right thing. Outside is where Ace really comes alive. He LOVES walks, sunshine, fresh air, and exploring the world like a little neighborhood mayor making rounds. But inside? He settles in surprisingly well for an active young dog. He’s not bouncing off walls 24/7. He just likes being included in whatever’s going on. And listen. We need to discuss the strawberries. This dog loves strawberries with the intensity of a Victorian child seeing candy for the first time. Somebody opens the fridge and suddenly he appears out of nowhere like he teleported in from another dimension. Ace would thrive in an active home that still appreciates a dog with a good off-switch. He’d love another playful dog sibling, but he’s social and adaptable enough to do well either way. Honestly, Ace feels like one of those dogs people end up talking about years later. “The best dog we've ever had.” And judging by the way he looks at his people like they personally invented happiness… we believe it. +++++++ ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://form.jotform.com/260401018308040 +++++++ Ace is currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to the perfect forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week! +++++++ The Truth About Rescue: Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again. Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued. +++++++ Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com. Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.
