About Rex A.k.a Rexie
Rex, also known as Rexie the Bestie, is a big, lively Black Labrador Retriever mix with a heart as generous as his size. At 68 lbs, he thinks he’s a lap dog and isn’t shy about climbing in for a cuddle. Outgoing and confident, Rex loves a good run, playtime, and showing off his treats-for-sits routine. He genuinely enjoys people and gives out affection without reservation—expect kisses on demand and a dog that’s happiest with his people close by. Rex came in as a stray after a tough start, so he’s looking for a home that can offer stability and love. Volunteers rave about his disposition; he adapts well to new situations and has aced outings at restaurants and events. Rex is friendly with dogs, especially females, and does well with respectful introductions. He’s both kennel and house trained. Rex is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. He’s in Houston, TX, and transport can be arranged to approved adopters in other areas. If you’re ready to give a deserving dog a shot at a soft landing, Rex is waiting for a family to call his own.
