Weighing approximately 65 lbs, this sweet girl originally came from Texas, where she was found abandoned with her puppy before eventually making her way to the Pacific Northwest in search of a better life. Nisha thought she had found her forever home in Seattle, but after her family's recent divorce, she is once again searching for a place to call her own. While this transition is heartbreaking for everyone involved, her family is committed to finding the perfect match for this incredible dog. Her former owner invested thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours into professional training, and it shows. She is fully housebroken, crate trained, and knows a long list of commands, including sit, down, wait, place, and many more. She thrives with structure and enjoys having clear expectations and routines. At home, Nisha is a mellow, easygoing dog who enjoys spending her days lounging on the couch, chewing on toys, and spending time with her people. She absolutely adores children and is known for her gentle, patient nature around them. During the summer months, one of her favorite activities is splashing around in a kiddie pool and soaking up the sunshine. Nisha has made incredible progress since arriving in the Pacific Northwest. Like many rescue dogs, she initially struggled with feeling overwhelmed around unfamiliar dogs, particularly while on leash. Through dedicated training, structure, and confidence-building, she has come a long way and now walks comfortably in most environments. While Nisha can coexist around other dogs and currently lives successfully with another canine companion, she prefers calm, respectful interactions and doesn't enjoy sharing her space with unfamiliar dogs. Because of this, we believe Nisha would be happiest as the only pet in her future home, where she can soak up all the attention and continue thriving in a structured environment. Nisha's ideal family will appreciate her many strengths- her intelligence, impeccable manners, loyalty, and affectionate nature- and continue providing the consistency that has helped her blossom into the wonderful companion she is today.
