About Newton In Ky

Stop right there—your future loyal companion has entered the chat. Newton is a big, happy, incredibly friendly young Great Pyrenees with a stunning long coat, an impressive fluffy tail, and a calm confidence that turns heads wherever he goes. He loves people and believes his job is to stay close, soak up affection, and keep his humans company at all times. Newton is a wonderful housemate who knows how to behave indoors. He keeps his space clean, isn’t destructive, and can easily settle down and relax when it’s time to unwind. When playtime calls, he’s ready—tug‑of‑war, interactive toys, and training sessions (especially when treats are involved) are much appreciated. Like all good Pyrs, he enjoys exploring the yard, going for walks, and observing the world around him with quiet curiosity. He’s very social with other dogs and greets them with a ā€œlet’s be friendsā€ attitude. Newton has also shown he can do well with cats, particularly those familiar with dogs, as he responds well to clear boundaries. He’s still polishing his leash skills and training, but he already knows a few basics and is eager to keep learning with positive guidance. He will thrive with a family with large breed experience, a big 5-foot fenced yard, and a canine sibling playmate to share it with—an unlimited supply of treats would be icing on the cake! If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate companion with big tail wags, a gentle presence, and a joyful outlook on life, Newton is ready to step into that role. Come meet him, fall hard, and submit your adoption application—Newton is waiting to claim his forever home. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
