Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Tink. This sweet little girl is super chill and eager to meet her new best friend. She is approx. 6 years old and weighs 11lbs. Her owner passed away and she had nowhere to go. Tink is a very loyal, low-maintenance companion with a low-to-medium energy level and is completely content to sit by herself and watch you while you do your chores, lay in her bed by your feet or sit with you on the couch. She is house trained and will let you know when it is time for a potty break. She is happy hanging out at the house with you and is not a flight risk as she enjoys following you around. She will take cues from you when it’s time to come inside after potty breaks or sunning herself in the yard. Tink is typically quiet but will bark through the fence when the neighbor’s dog is out or someone walks by her yard; she does not chase and stays close to her foster mom. She will alert you to danger when someone knocks at the door but settles down nicely after a few moments or after they come inside. She walks well on a leash and does not alert to other activity but currently has free range in a fenced yard. She is eager to be with her human and responds to her name. She is very food motivated and will happy dance around for you while you prepare her meal. When you arrive home this cheerful pup will greet you with all her excited attention while she parades around your feet until you say hello and give her a proper greeting. Tink’s short legs still allow her to jump onto the couch on her own, but she waits patiently for her human to assist her up and back down from the bed. She sleeps in the human bed peacefully throughout the night. She will quietly wait for you to tell her it is time to get up even after you snooze the alarm several times. Her submissive nature will warm the toughest heart and make bath time a breeze as she patiently goes through the process and will allow you to brush her long golden coat. She is not a fan of the blow dryer though. Tink gets along with other dogs and cats and hardly pays any attention to them as she would rather watch what is going on with her person. She occasionally will softly growl at a foster sibling whose interfering with her one-on-one attention time from her foster mom but does not show aggressive behavior. Due to her shy and reserved nature, she is best with small and medium breeds. Large dogs seem a bit intimidating to this Southern gal, she tends to hide from larger dogs, but could become comfortable if properly introduced. She occasionally will play with a crinkle toy but it's not a big part of her day. Tink does have some fear and anxiety on car trips and trembles until the destination is reached. She has not been around children while with our rescue and she is not crate trained. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Tink, complete an app and tell us about your family.
