About Scarlett

Scarlett is about a year old, medium-sized and sturdy, with a red and white short coat. She came into the shelter as a stray, scared and unsure, but her world turned around once she got into a foster environment. Shelter life is truly overwhelming for her—it makes her anxious and withdrawn. In a quieter home, though, Scarlett flourishes. She is now staying with her foster family on nights and weekends, and spends her days in the office when her foster is at work. She loves other dogs of all sizes, even if her playstyle can be rough on the little ones. Cats are met with exuberance, not malice, but Scarlett’s large, playful paws aren’t every feline’s cup of tea. Scarlett bonds very closely to her people and is a big cuddler who loves to snuggle up in bed. She snores loudly and contentedly. Around new people she may seem shy, but once she trusts you, her tail is wagging and she’s pure sweetness. She does well in the car, mostly napping through the ride. Basic training is coming along—she has learned to sit and wait politely for her food, though she prefers to eat without interruption from other dogs. Potty training has gone well so far in her foster home, though some patience may be needed to adjust to a new family’s routine. Scarlett’s ideal adopters will be familiar with bully breeds and appreciate her sometimes rambunctious way of playing. She thrives with structure and understanding—not just tolerance—for her big heart and goofy style. Consider Scarlett if you’re looking for an affectionate, loyal companion ready for her next chapter. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
